Weekly Wrap 1/12/19

Well now it’s been a hell of a week for anime reviews on this blog. To be honest, I took advantage of my two days off last week to get a bit ahead and wrote them all in advance as a sort of buffer. I hope they didn’t come off as rushed, but I’m sure some will seem like they have more than others.

I mean Sunday must have been the third time I’ve talked about Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, but I’m glad I finally got to finish the season. I’m still disappointed with how it ended though. I’ve seen a few posts defending it, but it just felt rushed in my opinion.

Monday was the first Hanekawa chapter in the Monogatari short stories book we covered. I’m not the biggest Hanekawa fan (loved her most in Kizumonogatari actually…), but I thought it was a pretty great chapter. Love the additional bits of info we don’t get from the anime!

Tuesday and Thursday were Koans 40: Mokusen’s Hand and 41: Muddy Road, which are both great and memorable stories.

Wednesday I finally got to cover the Seven Deadly Sins: Prisoners of the Sky movie which I’d been looking forward to watching since October. The movie gets a lot of flack, some of it deserved, but it was a fun watch overall.

And finally I covered another Shinkai Makoto movie yesterday titled Hoshi no Koe, or Voices of a Distant Star. It definitely isn’t his best work, but if you enjoy short somber movies with okayish plot and less okay animation, this movie is for you!

…. I know I’m not really trying to sell this short, but it honestly wasn’t that bad.

But until next time!

じゃあね!
