Weekly Wrap 1/5/19

This week has been especially interesting for me now that I’m getting used to my new job. I’m actually working in a casino, and it’s been a mix of stress-filled and entertaining with a hint of total exhaustion. Fortunately as things become more familiar to me it’s also becoming somewhat enjoyable.

But as far as posts have gone this week

Things started off with a short anime review of She and Her Cat: Their Standing Points, a roughly 4-5 minute animation by the creator of Your Name. I plan on doing reviews of some of his other works in the near future as well, so keep an eye out.

Next was the LN review of Mayoi Room, the second chapter of the Monogatari Short Stories. It was quickly followed by Sugura Court on Wednesday and Nadeko Pool yesterday. I’m not yet sure if I’ll keep posting these chapters so many times a week, but they’re admittedly easier to review at the moment since I have less time to watch anime and play visual novels with work.

Oh yeah did I forget to mention we kissed 2018 goodbye and we’re now living in the future? Things don’t feel especially different yet, but I’m holding out hope that this really will be a better new year!

Finally there were two Zen Kōans posted this week. Kōan 38: Learning to Be Silent and Kōan 39: Midnight Excursion (a new personal favorite of mine) went up on Tuesday and Thursday respectively. I hope you’re enjoying these little slices of philosophy, and I’d be curious to know if there’s a demand for other branches of philosophy on this blog? I’ve been thinking of going into the Shinto religion as part of my Japanese studies, but I’m not sure how much of that is actually philosophy based compared to religious.

And of course tomorrow will be a new anime review, so I hope you all enjoy it! I’ll say now it may be just as scattered as the anime it’s reviewing. I’ve also sorta already talked this anime into the ground, but hey it’s really popular right now. Oh but that reminds me!

(Link) Which series should I start next?
