Update: Dragon Ball Super Episode 115

“Goku VS Kefla! Super Saiyan Blue Defeated?!”

So I’ve decided to start posting updates about a series I’ve been watching for a while now, and have already done a review for, Dragon Ball Super. I can’t say that these updates will differ much from the season anime, but they may be shorter and sometimes skip weeks if an episode is especially weak.

This week we return to the fight taking place between Goku and the Potara fusion between Caulifla and Kale, Kefla. The Omniking declares that fusion will be alloweed (explaining away the rule breaking). During this fight we see Goku go all the way to SSJ Blue with King Kai Fist (Kaioken), yet it’s still not enough to stop SSJ/SSJ2 Kefla. Honestly at some point you just have to suspend disbelief and accept what Team Four Star has been saying for years — “POWER LEVELS ARE BULLSHIT!”. I mean is it a little infuriating that the Universe 6 Saiyans, with little to no knowledge of the Super Saiyan form before Vegeta taught it to Cabba, are now some of the strongest beings across universes? Hell to the yes it is. However I’m trying to roll with it as we’re getting closer to the big rematch between Goku and Jiren. Fortunately as the episode draws to a close, as Kefla is preparing to blast Goku off the fighting stage, we once again see the Ultra Instinct form. And sure we only see it for a few fleeting moments, but it’s obvious that next week’s episode will be one worth watching.

So what’s your favorite Saiyan form in the Dragon Ball franchise? I’m still partial to the OG Super Saiyan form myself, but I like the freshness of Ultra Instinct as well. Also look out for a special post tomorrow. Think it’s my best one since the Clannad review!
